I need to know how to paste the coding by using the Yahoo Site Builder. What goes where?
I keep seeing the part <!--Page content goes here--> ,
but how? I've tried Advanced Page Properties and can't get it to work!

I was curious as well what the number is after the URL, so I saved a page named that number, in my case it was 20057, and it got rid of the frames without any special coding. Just because my page was named that number. Don't know, maybe it could be of some use.

I've been googling around trying to find a way to get rid of these things for the last while, and I just wanted to say thanks to the guys who put this together.  Big help, much appreciated.

I havn't set up the iframe yet, I read that this script can cause some issues with iframes but I'll tackle that problem when I get to it.

If you use Yahoo Site Builder, go ahead and get used to the ads.

BTW, you probably should not move away from Geocities, they are practically the only FWP that hasn't disappeared within a few years Smile

If you dont have a URL redirection, you can addup this simple code to remove geocities ads. Sample site http://geocities.sytes.net

I've tried all the ideas here, and am ready to kill something (or someone). Nothing so far has worked. >.<! I copied my html out of my FrontPage, and when I insert these things on geocities it just doesnt change a durn thing. Please, is there anything else that can help me? Am I doing something wrong? :/

you can kill the ads on http://mx.geocities.com by simply encrypting the html coding with Web Protector 2.0
this only works on foriegn geocities accounts but it does work
here is an example

There is no real way to "noscript" or completely block code that is injected before all other code in a file.

The most you can do is to create the illusion that the tag is not there by "shifting" the ad part of the webpage out of view.

However, if you are using a server that lets you create any kind of file, or one that has .htaccess,
specify your own file type, and insert code in a file such a .dat. The server will not recognize it as a viewable webpage, so it will treat it like a downloadable file instead, while your htaccess allows others to see your page fine.

If you are not .htaccess supported, you can use an Iframe/frame to hold the contents of another file, so you dont have to add extra ad-blocking scripts to all your pages.

My Advice: Don't use geocities or any other host that uses this method of ad-injection.
