Hello. Can't seem to figure out what's slowing down the pc. Ran malwarebytes, superantispyware, avg. Turned off system restore. Freed up 60% space. Defragged regular and boot. Optimized service settings. Toggled antivirus and firewall software to see if it was affecting anything. I have more RAM coming in the mail but the default has been enough since I've had this comp. Tried to read the HiJack this and do searches on some of the services running in task manager, but figured I'd save myself the headache and let the pro's do the work. I'm pretty much at a dead end.
My wife recently d/l'ed google chrome and I noticed tons of malware that was probably installed with it. Hotbar was a biggie and I think I got most of that taken care of. Just letting you know for reference what the most recent malware instances were. One thing I noticed that I don't think was there before was the large amount of "svchost.exe" services running in the background. I don't believe they were there before.
Update: Tried disabling avg to run combofix. I can't close it from the quickbar icon or from task manager. When I try to uninstall it it fails and shows this:

I'm guessing I'll need to get around this matter if I'm to use combofix in the near future. Wondering if there's a way avg is being manipulated by malware so that it can't be detected.
