Hi Easyskillz,

Could you post your HijackThis log
Download, Unzip and run HijackThis. Then click Scan > Save log, save the log as a .txt file and copy & paste its content into your next post.
Donīt fix anything yet. Most of what it finds is harmless.

Regards,

Pieter

Lots of cr@p, easyskillz.

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

Then reboot and delete:
c:\program files\ddm   <= entire folder
C:\Program Files\BulletProofSoft.com  <= entire folder

Then download Spybot - Search & Destroy
After installing, first press Online, and search for, put a check mark at, and install all updates.
Next, close all IE windows, hit  'Check for Problems', and have SpyBot remove all it marks in red.

Or, download Ad-Aware at lavasoft.usa.com
After installing AAW, and before running the program, update by using the Globe icon.
Shut down and restart Ad-Aware.
Now press "Scan Now", "Select drives\folders to scan" and select the active partition (usually C: ), then 'next', and let Ad-Aware scan your drives.
It will find a number of "bad" files and registry keys. Click 'Next' again.
Rightclick in that pane and choose "select all" and click 'next'.
It will ask you whether you'd like to remove all checked items. Click OK.
Finally, close Ad-Aware, and reboot.

And read this on how to prevent future infections: http://boards.cexx.org/viewtopic.php?t=957

Hi ezskillz,

Run this on your work computer:
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blaster.worm.removal.tool.html

Then have HijackThis fix:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [windows auto update] msblast.exe

and reboot.

Your home PC looks OK.

You may have been infected by MSBlast before applying the patch. The patch prevents, but does not cure.

The best AV is a hard question. Most of the wellknown ones offer adequate protection, the rest depends on what runs well on your computer and what you are comfortable with.

I use NAV 2003 PE, NOD 32 and KAV (not all on the same computer)

NAV is the easiest to use, NOD is the fastest and uses the least resources, KAV has the highest detection rate for trojans.
