The once infamous brinkster that no one used that much has put ads on. I was wondering if anyone knew how to get them off. www33.brinkster.com/arpp is an example.

Bloody good idea, but it wont take them long to change the format of their ad server. Soon it will begin tacking the ads on at the begining of the html. What do we do then?

doryshe, I assume you mean it didn't work?  Confused
Well it does.  Very Happy

if you put this immediately above the <body> tag on your pages:

<noembed>
<body>
</body>
</noembed>

then the brinkster ad will die, for now anyways. You have to put it on each page you don't want the ads on.  Cool

I built my own JavaScript ad blocker. Oooh doesn't that sound nice. Pfft...I didn't do much and the guys a brinkster will defeat it soon enough.

Here it is, place this script in the place that you would normally have your body tag. You can configure your body tag to look any way you want to as long as you do it inside this Javascript.

The reason that this works is that the Brinkster servers are running a program that watches for a page of code going out and then it watches for the body tag. When it notices the body tage it tacks on their banner. This script keeps the program from ever seeing a body tag.

I bet the next thing they will do is set the program to just tack on the code at the start of every page of html going out. Just like www.host-ultra.com

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE = JAVASCRIPT>
<!--
var B="B";
var O="O";
var D="D";
var Y="Y";

PopUp.document.write("<"+B+O+D+Y+" bgcolor='#444444'>");
// -->
</SCRIPT>

The only think I did is to put all contents  in a
<DIV style="position:absolute;left:0;top:0" >
<table bgcolor="FFFFFF">
<tr><td> my home page code <tr><td>
</table>
</DIV>

Your page will stay over the Brinkster Ad ....
That's All
