HI, I was cleaning/deleting out my temporary internet files and found numerous cookies to sites that I clearly did not visit!  These were porn site cookies.  A friend told me that an opened email could have placed those cookies on there and I do get tricked by emails that when you open you find out it is to sell "enlargement pills" or an invite to visit a porn site.
Do you have to go to a site before a cookie is placed in the file? Thanks for your help

most likey are third party cookies. Websites can put cookies for other sites on your HDD if you allow it.  (called third party cookies)
