I have decided to FDISK my compaq pc due to problems with windows...

the guy I called said that compaqs come with a restoration disk to use after fdisking them. My only question is after I FDISK it in what order do I do things?

Should I install windows first or use the restoration disk?

Also it has an ethernet card, how hard do you guys think device drivers will be to install on it? Are they on that restoration disk?

I built a pc from scratch at school and loaded an os, but it didn't have a ethernet card on it..

The restoration disk is a full-thing.  you don't need an existing OS.

But you're probably better off installing your own OS disk and hanging the Restoration disk on a wall.

hi Jason C

install windows first, then pop in the restoration disk so you can get the proper drivers installed. but if you dont want to deal with the crappy restoration disk, get the drivers on the net.

as far as any drivers go, you can get them on the internet for free.
